What is Manual Osteopathy?

Manual osteopathy is a gentle hands-on therapy with a focus on discovering the root cause of your health concerns.

Your osteopathic practitioner will go through a detailed medical history and phyically evaluate your body. They will discuss their findings with you, providing a physical treatment according to their findings. This is not a one-size-fits-all approach. This is individualized medicine.

Visceral Manipulation

Imbalances in the fascial connections between different organs can have a profound affect on your wellness. Tightness in the wrong area can reduce an organ’s ability to function well, causing a ripple effect throughout the body. Your manual osteopath can evaluate how well your organs are able to move in response to body signals and can help improve that response with gentle manipulation.

Cranio-sacral Manipulation

The Cranio-sacral system includes the skull, brain, brain stem, spine, sacrum, the membranes containing the brain, and the craniosacral fluid that moves between and through these structures. If these structures are not balanced, the result can be headaches, migraines, back pain, postural imbalances, nervous system conditions like impingements, and even organ dysfunction leading to digestive issues, respiratory issues, or reproductive organ dysfunction.

Fascial Release

Fascial tension can affect an organ’s ability to perform its function, result in postural changes leading to pain, and cause alignment issues leading to pain and injury. Your manual osteopath can detect these tension points and work with you to release the fascial network, resulting in improved body function overall.
